DEFINITIONS/EXPLANATIONS

What Are Razor Bumps [Shaving Bumps] And How Are They Caused?

Razor Bumps [Shaving Bumps], also referred to [incorrectly] as ingrown hairs are Primarily caused by the Trauma from Shaving, resulting in inflammation of the shaved area manifested as “bumps” as the body reacts to the trauma, compounded at times by Bacterial/Fungal Infections. Induction of Melanogenesis by Irritated keratinocytes during shaving produces additional inflammatory mediators exacerbating the condition [this is the main reason why men of color with higher levels of melanin have a higher incidence of shaving bumps]”

What Are Ingrown Hairs/Entrapped Hairs and How are they Caused?

Ingrown hairs [more appropriately referred to as entrapped hairs] result when existing shaving bumps [caused by shaving] block the opening of the hair follicles on the skin forcing the normally growing hairs to grow into the existing bumps [blocking the hair follicles] as they try to find a way to exit [hence the name ‘ingrown hairs’].

Shaving Bumps precede ingrown hairs and as such ingrown hairs are Not the cause of shaving bumps.

BREEJ Technologies disagrees with the widely held [and incorrect] view that Shaving Bumps are caused by “ingrown” hairs – wiry, curly hairs that curl and grow back into the skin.” This concept of “in-grown” hairs has led to a lot of poking & probing of the shaved area with tweezers often further aggravating the problem. BREEJ discourages this practice as the additional trauma can lead to infection, hyper pigmentation and significant skin damage.

It is practically impossible [based on the structure of the Stratum Corneum] for the hair outside the skin [or hair cut at an angle] to curl and grow back into the skin contrary to what is claimed and published by many!” according to Dr Anaebonam, Chief Scientist of BREEJ Technologies

WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO GET RID OF RAZOR BUMPS?

Use a good Anti-Bump Product or Kit [formulated with powerful anti inflammatories, anti bacterials, anti fungals and skin conditioners such as:

For Men

BUMP ZAPPER Severe Bumps Kit

BUMP TERMINATOR Severe Bump Lotion

BUMP TERMINATOR Extra Strength Severe Bump Lotion

For Women

BUMP TERMINATOR Alcohol Free Anti Bump Serum For Women

BUMP TERMINATOR Anti-Razor Bump Serum For Women

Once the razor bumps ore eliminated, the ingrown [entrapped] hairs are freed and can be shaved off easily

SHOULD I SHAVE IF I HAVE RAZOR BUMPS [SHAVING BUMPS; INGROWN HAIRS]?

No – You must first resolve existing Razor Bumps [Shaving Bumps; Ingrown hairs] prior to resumption of shaving

Shaving over existing bumps [especially with classic razors] will only worsen the condition

HOW SHOULD I GET RID OF DAMAGED/DARKENED SKIN CAUSED BY SHAVING BUMPS?

Use a good Skin Repair And Brightening Cream Product [formulated with powerful skin repair agents, skin brighteners and skin conditioners to resolve damaged/darkened skin such as the Bump Zapper Skin Repair And Brightening Cream

HOW SHOULD I ENSURE THAT RAZOR BUMPS [INGROWN HAIRS DO NOT COME BACK]?

Use a good Post Shave Lotion or Serum [formulated with powerful anti inflammatories, anti bacterials, anti fungals and skin conditioners such as the Bump Zapper Anti Bump Soothing Aftershave Lotion to soothe and condition shaved skin

About Shaving Bumps

Shaving Bumps, also referred to as ingrown hairs, [more appropriately referred to as “entrapped hairs”] pseudofolliculitis barbae or pfb, plague over 10 million African American men in the USA and over 300 million men of color worldwide. Shaving bumps; including the very difficult to treat back-of-the-head/neck bumps, represent a very significant issue for Black men. Some have seen limitations in their careers as well as major social setbacks due to their inability to get smooth shaves. Many have reluctantly given up shaving altogether.

Ingrown Hairs/Entrapped Hairs

Shaving Bumps [caused by shaving] precede ingrown hairs and as such ingrown hairs are Not the cause of shaving bumps

Shaving Bumps and ingrown hairs also plague over 100 million men and women from other ethnic groups worldwide. For men the face is red, irritated and covered with bumps. In women there are bumps and redness in the bikini line area, legs, underarms and face.

BREEJ Technologies disagrees with the widely held view that Shaving Bumps are caused by “in-grown” hairs – wiry, curly hairs that curl and grow back into the skin.” This concept of “in-grown” hairs has led to a lot of poking & probing of the shaved area with tweezers often further aggravating the problem. EXISTING SHAVING BUMPS TREATMENT

You must first resolve existing bumps before resuming shaving

[never use tweezers to pull out “ingrown hairs”. pulling out “ingrown hairs” as this will result in damaged/darkened skin]

Use a good anti-bump product or kit to resolve existing bumps such as the Bump Zapper Severe Bumps Kit or Bump Terminator Lotions from BREEJ Technologies prior to resumption of shaving

Shaving over existing bumps [especially with classic razors] will only worsen the condition

Use a good skin repair and brightening cream product to resolve damaged/darkened skin [caused by shaving bumps] such as the Bump Zapper Skin Repair And Brightening Cream

RAZOR SHAVING FOR BLACK MEN

Black Men Should Only Shave with a Multi-Blade Razor

The best razor for Black men is the multi-blade razor for the following reasons:

Multi-Blade Razors cause minimal irritation [irritation from shaving is the main cause of shaving bumps as noted earlier]

Multi-Blade Razors are easier to use and cause fewer nicks and cuts especially for first time users or users transitioning from other shaving methods

Multi-Blade Razors shave more surface area per stroke and as such results in faster shaving

Prepare your skin for shaving by first cleansing and lubricating the area to be shaved with a good face wash and shave gel such as the Bump Terminator 2-in-1 Anti Bump Face Wash/Shave Gel

It is best to shave in the shower so the hair is first softened by the warm water

Shave with a Multi-Blade Razor [Never Shave your face with a single Blade Razor]

Soothe and Condition the shave area using the Bump Zapper Anti Bump Soothing Lotion

Shave every day as it is much easier

DON’TS

Black men should NEVER shave with Single Blade Razors for the following reasons:

Single Blade Razors cause more irritation to the skin – a special concern for African American and Afro Latino men [with higher levels of melanin] resulting in the production of additional inflammatory mediators released as a result of the induction of melanogensis by irritated keratinocytes caused by the trauma from shaving

Single Blade Razors are more difficult to set up and more cumbersome to use especially for first time users or shavers transitioning from other shaving methods

Single Blade Razor shaving is more time consuming [covers a smaller surface area per stroke] and should be reserved only for shaving aficionados who relish the set up routine and process

Bump Terminator Anti Bump Serum For Women

Our New Press Release – Bikini Bumps: Banished! Just in Time for Summer, New Bump Terminator Bikini-Line Lotions from BREEJ Technologies Now Available @BumpTerminators.com

Lowell, MA Updated June 27, 2015

BREEJ Technologies, a leader in advanced shaving bumps treatment products announced today the availability of its Advanced and Fast Acting New Bump Terminator ALCOHOL FREE Anti Bump Serum and The Bump Terminator Anti Razor Bump Serum For Women for the rapid resolution of bikini area bumps, bumps on legs, underarms and face at

http://bumpterminators.com/

Whether a woman shaves or waxes, the skin of the bikini-line is prone to irritation and inflammation. The pressure and friction caused by snug clothes–sitting all day in fitted trousers, for example–make matters worse.

The universal evidence: painful “razor-bumps”, ingrown hairs or pseudofolliculitis barbae along the sensitive inner thigh.

Now, just in time for the skimpiest summer beachwear, BREEJ Technologies introduces the New the New Bump Terminator ALCOHOL FREE Anti Bump Serum and The Bump Terminator Anti Razor Bump Serum For Women, part of the Bump Terminator collection created by innovative entrepreneur Dr. Aloysius Anaebonam, President and Chief Scientist of BREEJ Technologies.

http://bumpterminators.com/

The serums [an alcohol free version and a non-irritating alcohol based version] may be safely applied for the resolution of existing bumps and the Alcohol Free Version to even the most tender skin, including skin which has just been shaved or waxed.

Founder Dr. Anaebonam holds 12 US Patents, as well as a Bachelor of Pharmacy Degree (First Class Honors) from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka and Masters and Doctorate of Philosophy degrees in Industrial Pharmacy from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy in Boston. In creating his formulas for the Bump Terminator collection for women, he drew upon the global pharmacopeias of traditional herbal healing as the source for the primary botanical ingredients. These roots, leaves, flowers and herbal extracts endow the products with antimicrobial, anti-fungal and healing properties — Dr. Anaebonam explains that results are often visible in 12-24 hours.

The other perhaps surprising source of inspiration: the vast Black Diaspora of people worldwide with African or part-African heritage, which extends across Europe to the Caribbean and the Americas. “Black men know all about razor-bumps from shaving the face, neck and the back of the head,” says Dr. Anaebonam. “In richly pigmented skin, high melanin content makes the inflammation cycle worse when irritated. The bumps invite infection, and often leave a darkened spot, referred to as “post inflammatory hyperpigmentation”, on the skin long after the bump heals.

Women of all ethnic backgrounds often experience the same when they shave their legs, bikini area, underarms and face.”

Dr. Anaebonam initially created a luxury-shave line targeted for Black men, intended to break the cycle of inflammation, irritation and scarring. “We are trying to reduce irritation,” says the entrepreneur, “We want to treat and soothe existing bumps, and prevent future bumps by stopping the cycle of inflammation, which is no more than the skin trying to defend itself against the trauma from shaving.”

The new bikini-line serums for women were inspired by overwhelming response of consumers outside this core demographic. The all New Bump Terminator ALCOHOL FREE Anti Bump Serum and The Bump Terminator Anti Razor Bump Serum For Women, part of the Bump Terminator collection are available at

http://bumpterminators.com/

Key ingredients in the Bump Terminator Line For Women include:

BUMP TERMINATOR ALCOHOL FREE ANTI BUMP SERUM FOR WOMENCentella Asiatica , Cucumis Sativus, Harpagophytum Procumbens, Lagerstroemia Speciosa, Forsythia Suspensa, Saururus Chinensis, Morus Alba, Alteromonas Ferment, Vincetoxicum Atratum, Eperua Falcata, Yucca Schidigera

BUMP TERMINATOR ANTI RAZOR BUMP SERUM FOR WOMENNatural Healing Oils – Hibawood, German Chamomile; Extracts Of Gotu Kola, Devil’s Claw, Banaba, Willowbark, Licorice; Glycolic Acid, Salicylic Acid And Alpha Bisabolol
